Welcome to Ladybrook Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Genessa Groos and Jean

We are located in Tucson, Arizona, in the foothills of the beautiful, Santa Catalina Mountains. We discovered Cavaliers while on vacation in England in 1994 and have loved the breed since then.

Occasionally we have puppies available to special homes. The puppies are born, raised and live in our home along with all our Cavaliers. I believe that early puppy training and socialization are important whether you plan to show in conformation, compete in performance events, do pet therapy or have a wonderful pet.

Looking For a Cavalier

Your selection of a reputable breeder from whom to purchase your puppy or dog is the most important step you can take in ensuring that you have a better chance of acquiring a healthy Cavalier with a good temperament. You will want to contact that breeder anytime you have a question about your Cavalier. If the breeder makes you feel uncomfortable or pressured, keep looking. That is not the breeder for you.

Responsible breeders will do all they can to avoid health and temperament problems by researching pedigrees and health testing parents for certain inherited problems before breeding.

Take time to play with and observe the pup's Mother and ask to see pictures of the Dad if he is with another breeder. If the breeder will not let you see the Mother….walk away and keep looking..

See how the pups are raised, are they in a home, kennel or backyard. Puppies require a lot of human contact and to be exposed to a large variety of noises and experiences before they leave for their new homes. Cavaliers should be raised and continue to live mainly in the house.

Ask the breeder if they show their dogs in conformation or obedience. What breed clubs do they belong to and are they active. Do they encourage their puppy buyers to become active in the breed clubs? All Cavalier puppies are darling but good research and patience is well worth it in the long run. You want a happy, healthy Cavalier that will be a part of your family for many, many years.
